Postpartum Tummy Wrap

There are a ton of brands available. All you need to do is pick one and commit to wearing it. (I personally think Belly Bandit has the biggest variety of options these days to tackle a wide variety of pregnancy and postpartum needs for the whole body.) Thanks to your sweet baby being in your belly and shoving your bladder to one side and your stomach all the way up your esophagus, the inside of your midsection is going to feel like a loosey-goosey hot mess after delivery. A postpartum tummy wrap made me feel more comfortable and should be worn starting one to two days after delivery and continue for about six to eight weeks following birth. I wore mine for about forty days (as suggested by Brooke Burke-Charvet), morning and night (I did not take it off, except to wash it and to shower), and yes, it shrunk my belly within weeks. For my first birth, my waist measured 40 inches before delivery, 36 inches just after delivery, and 30 inches five weeks postpartum—that’s a loss of 10 inches in just over a month! If you wear them right (very, very tight, like a girdle), postpartum wraps are also medically recognized to help healing, minimize water retention, and encourage organs to shrink back to normal size and make you feel optimally supported in the back and core from the inside out. Added bonus? They make you look slimmer, faster, on the outside, too.
